80 deaths from 'Amfan' in Bengal, Mamta says, 'Will inform PM about the situation'

Kolkata: West Bengal has suffered a lot due to Cyclone Amfan. PM Narendra Modi will also be in West Bengal today to take stock of the affected areas. Earlier, the state's CM Mamta Banerjee, while talking to the media, gave information about the state's condition. Mamta Banerjee said that we are facing three crises together, the state has suffered a lot, which will take time to compensate.

He said that till Friday morning, the number of deaths due to storm has reached 80 in the state. Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee said that after the storm of Amfan, President Ramnath Kovind called her, she is very worried. Today when PM Modi comes, we will inform him of the whole situation. Along with this, we will also meet people in South 24 Parganas.

Giving information about the relief work, Mamta Banerjee said that we have taken about 6 lakh people to a safe place, but the impact of the storm has been seen from Kolkata to Nadia. Giving information, Mamta said that about 60 percent of the people of the area have been affected, it is very difficult to estimate the damage. Mamta Banerjee said that she has received information about PM Modi's program late night, after which he will now see the situation here.
