Man arrested for allegedly killing father over property dispute

GURUGRAM: A 26-year-old man was detained by Police for allegedly killing his father over a property dispute in Gurugram on Friday.

Anuj, the suspect, is accused of fatally stabbing his father Rakesh, 52, on the night of September 17/18 in Gurugram's Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP), then fleeing the scene,  the police officials said in their statement.

The Industrial Model Township Manesar police station had then registered a murder case against the accused and launched a hunt for him. On Thursday in Gurugram, they finally managed to capture him from Nevada, the official reported.

"The victim's son is the defendant. The accused's father and aunt received some land from the accused's grandpa. He had grown hostile toward his father and aunt as a result of this choice, and he was not happy with them "ACP (crime) Preet Pal Sangwan said.

The accused and his father frequently argued about this, and on the night between September 17 and 18, the accused killed his father by crushing him to death with a piece of automotive equipment before driving away in the vehicle.

"The accused also has some criminal history and has been in Gurugram for the previous three years,"  Sangwan said.
