The Indian boxing team returning from Jordan after participating in the Asian Olympic qualifiers will be asked to remain isolated at home, given the threat of Kovid-19, although all the members of the team have been given the necessary health-related clearances.
According to reports, Indian boxers were training in Italy till 26 February, which is one of the countries most affected by the Coronavirus. He arrived in Amman from Assisi on 27 February and got approval to participate only after compulsory screening. The Indian Boxing Federation (BFI) gave this information.
For information, let us tell you that on Thursday, March 12, 2020, 13 boxers and an equal number of the coaching staff will return home. Indian boxers achieved a record nine Olympic quotas in the qualifier which ended on Wednesday in Amman, Jordan. BFI Executive Director RK Sacheti said, 'They will be asked to stay apart in their homes or hostels for a few days. However, he has got the necessary health-related approval from the Jordan Olympic Association. So far only one positive case has come up in Jordan.
