Punjab: This person was collecting money for Khalistani agenda

In the midst of the havoc of Corona, on January 29 this year, the mastermind of the case of robbing two kilos of gold from the jewellers at Ghumar Mandi has finally been arrested by the police. The team of Crime Control Unit took control of the accused from Mohali. The accused has been identified as Tejinder Singh alias Teja resident Mahdpur police station Balachaur (Nawanshahar). Also, DGP Dinkar Gupta said that the accused was involved in promoting Khalistani agenda to disturb peace in Punjab. He was collecting money for this. The police presented him before the duty magistrate in Mohali on Tuesday. The court sent him on six-day police remand.

According to DGP Gupta in this case, Punjab Police uniform, identity card of Border Security Force has been recovered from accused Teja. On its strength, the accused was in a position to go to a restricted area and execute an incident. A 30 bore Chinese pistol, ten cartridges and a car have been recovered from his possession. To avoid arrest, the accused had got a fake identity card, Aadhaar card, driving license from Noida as well. He hid in the areas of Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana and UP. The accused has 25 cases related to murder, attempt to murder and robbery.

In the initial interrogation, the accused says that he is a fundamentalist and due to being in various jails, he is in contact with some fundamentalists. They were motivating him to do a planned murder. He was planning to loot a bank cash van in Talwandi Sabo and Maud area of Bathinda along with his close associate Rachpal Singh alias Dola resident village Bhuchar Kalan district Tarn Taran. For this, he has also done Reiki. After coming out of jail in 2019, he along with Rachpal Singh also obtained modern weapons from across the border. At present, he was absconding in the case of murder in Tarn Taran.
