Refuting the all the rumours regarding board examinations, education minister Lahkmen Rymbui announced that the Meghalaya board examinations will be held after April 14. The education minister rubbished the news circulated on social media that the board examinations would begin from April 6. He said, “We have decided to hold the board examinations after April 14. The date of the examinations will be announced soon." As usual the Meghalaya board examinations – Secondary School Leaving Certificate and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate – are usually held in March. The examinations are conducted by the Meghalaya Board of School Education. However, due to the corona pandemic, the dates have to be changed this year. The State Education Department has also curtailed the syllabus so that students do not face difficulties due to the absence of regular classes.
