Srinagar: People's Democratic Party (PDP) President and former Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday alleged that Jammu and Kashmir police did not allow the party's youth wing to meet in Anantnag and also assaulted party members. Former Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti also said the Centre wants to justify its "tough-headed approach" by propelling all Kashmiris as violent criminals. PDP chief Mehbooba tweeted from her official Twitter handle, "PDP youth are not being allowed to hold a meeting in Bijbehara today. The gates leading to Mufti Saheb's tomb have been closed and blocked with barbed wire. Can the Jammu and Kashmir Police explain why these youths were assaulted?" Mehbooba Mufti further said that preventing the youth of PDP from holding a meeting in South Kashmir, especially strengthens the Indian government's strategy of not allowing Kashmiri youth to have any meaningful political affiliation. "The Government of India wants to justify its tough notion by branding all Kashmiris as violent criminals," she said.
