Meta to Launch a Ruthless Product Against Twitter in the World

New Delhi:- Tit-for-Tat Finally Facebook giant Meta officially launched Twitter's text-based rival Threads on Wednesday, but regulatory concerns delayed its release in Europe.

Threads are Elon Musk's Twitter's biggest challenger yet. Twitter has many potential rivals, but despite its epic struggles, it has yet to replace one of social media's most famous companies.

The app was released on his Apple and Android app stores at 11 pm. Celebrities such as Shakira and Jack Black and media companies such as The Hollywood Reporter, Vice, and Netflix already have active accounts.

"Let's do this. Welcome to Threads," Meta CEO and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg wrote in his first post about the new platform.

Launched as a distinct spin-off of Instagram, the app has over 2 billion users built-in, avoiding the pain of starting from scratch.

Zuckerberg is widely believed to be exploiting Musk's messy ownership of Twitter to launch a new product that the company hopes will become the communication channel of choice for celebrities, businesses, and politicians.

"It's as simple as that if an Instagram user with a large number of followers such as Kardashian or a Bieber or a Messi begins posting on Threads regularly, a new platform could quickly thrive," strategic financial analyst Brian Wieser said on Substack.

Analyst Jasmine Engberg from Insider Intelligence said Threads would only need one out of four Instagram monthly users "to make it as big as Twitter". "Twitter users are desperate for an alternative, and Musk has given Zuckerberg an opening," she added.

Musk and Zuckerberg are known to be bitter rivals — and have even offered to meet each other in a fighting cage to wrestle it out. This came after a Meta executive reportedly told employees that Threads would be like Twitter, but "sanely run."

Indicating the desire to break from Twitter's toxic reputation, Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, told users that Threads was intended to build "an open and friendly platform for conversations."

"The best thing you can do if you want that too is be kind," he said. Under the Musk administration, content control on Twitter was minimal, with glitches and hasty decisions damaging the site's reputation and scaring celebrities and big advertisers.

Musk hired advertising executive Linda Yaccarino to help stabilize the ship, but she too was not immune to his whims. The Tesla executive said last week that he was restricting access to Twitter as a temporary measure to prevent AI companies from "scraping" the site to train their tech.

Musk then angered Twitter's most loyal fans by saying that access to his product, TweetDeck, which allows users to view large numbers of tweets at once, is limited to paying customers.  Thread owner Meta has many critics, especially in Europe, who could slow the site's development despite Instagram's huge user base. The company, formerly known as Facebook, has been criticized for its handling of personally identifiable information – the typically targeted advertising that helps it generate billions of dollars in profits each quarter.

Regulatory concerns are expected to delay Threads' launch in the European Union, according to people familiar with the matter, and Meta will be subject to a new law called the Digital Markets Act (DMA), which sets strict rules for the world's largest internet company. Rules prohibit platforms from transferring personal data between products, as is the case between Threads and Instagram.

Meta was caught doing just that after it acquired the messaging app WhatsApp, and European regulators have put a heavy guard on the company against doing the same with Threads. Become. Another original idea of Threads to be able to interoperate with other Twitter competitors like Mastodon has also been put on hold for the time being, but not abandoned.

"Soon you will be able to follow and interact with people on other Fediverse platforms," the app told users. In the so-called Fediverse, different platforms of all types and sizes will be able to communicate with each other.

The new app launched by Meta called Threads is finally launched and also started competing with Twitter at a very wide range and also acquired a huge space in the market just after the launch was done.
