Chennai: President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah, among others, sent greetings to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, who turned 69 on Tuesday. Over the phone, President spoke with Stalin and greeted him. The President exhorted the chief minister to work for the prosperity of Tamil Nadu and wished him a long public life. Modi expressed his birthday greetings on Twitter as well as on the phone to Stalin. "Happy birthday to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Thiru @mkstalin Ji. I wish him a long and healthy life," Prime Minister tweeted. A state government release said, Prime Minister Modi spoke with Stalin on the phone and reiterated his desire for the chief minister to continue working for the progress of Tamil Nadu. Stalin in turn promised Modi that he would do it "with your support." R N Ravi, the Governor of Tamil Nadu, also wished Stalin over the phone and sent him a flower bouquet. According to an official announcement, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi wished Stalin over the phone. He praised Stalin's "youthful appearance" and wished him good health and a long life.
