Mob of Muslims Attacks Hindu Worshippers, Leaving Dozens Injured

Patna: In Madhubani, Bihar, a clash ensued between Hindu worshippers and Muslims during the Vat Savitri Puja, resulting in injuries to several individuals. The incident occurred in Kauaha village, where Hindus were conducting rituals near an old banyan tree, a site of longstanding worship for the community. However, tensions arose as Muslims contested ownership of the area, leading to a confrontation between the two groups.

Reports indicate that the dispute escalated into violence, with both sides sustaining injuries, including women and police personnel who intervened. The situation in the village became tense, prompting a police presence led by SDO Birendra Kumar to maintain order. The root of the conflict lies in conflicting claims over the land where the banyan tree stands, situated near the boundary of an Idgah.

As Hindu women performed their rituals, a group of Muslims allegedly attacked them, sparking further unrest. Police efforts to mediate were met with resistance, resulting in additional injuries and a heightened security presence in the area. Subsequently, officials, including SHO Arvind Kumar and BDO Ajit Kumar, conducted a flag march to restore calm and initiated legal action by registering FIRs against individuals from both communities involved in the altercation.
