Patna: The Bihar home department has initiated disciplinary action against 14 jail officials after several banned items, including SIM cards, were recovered from the high-security Beur Central Jail in the wake of a raid. The state administration suspended three jail warders Surendra Kumar, Virendra Kumar and Vikas Chandra Singh on charges of negligence while a special armed police jawan Gauri Shankar has been suspended from service. At the same time, the department also decided to shift 125 prisoners of the state from one jail to another. According to a statement issued by the state administration, 12 inmates of Beur Central Jail are being shifted to another jail in the state. 32 inmates of Gaya Central Jail, and 25 inmates of Buxar Central Jail are also being shifted to another jail in the state. In addition, 6 prisoners from Bhagalpur Central Jail, 15 from Ara Jail, 6 from Saran and 5 from Hajipur Jail are also being shifted to other jails in the State.
