Big gift to retail sector, Modi government bringing new policy for entrepreneurs

New Delhi: Even though the Modi government at the Center is taking time to bring the country's first retail policy, the retail sector hopes that the new policy will add new life to the growth of the retail sector. Speaking to the press, Kumar Rajagopalan, CEO of Retailers Association of India, told what the sector hopes for the new retail policy.

He said that if his expectations are fulfilled, many problems in the sector will end. This will create employment opportunities as well as give a boost to the economy. The license system should be made easier and faster under the termination of license raj in retail sector and ease of doing business. Currently, to open any retail shop, at least 40 different types of licenses are required. Not only this, renewal of these licenses also face a lot of problems.

labor law will be changed, so that people in the retail sector will be able to work. Retail sector wants transparency in Weight & Measurement rules. That is, there should also be concession and transparency in the rules about the measurement or size of any product.t. The retail sector wants a concession to keep shops open overnight or 24 hours and 365 days.
