Govt of India's big decision, word 'halal' removes from government documents in a jolt

New Delhi: Government of India 'Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority' or APEDA has removed the word 'halal' from its red meat manual and issued guidelines without it. Has done. For this, Harinder S. Sikka, who has been campaigning for a long time, has given information about this on social media.

He has thanked PM Modi and Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Piyush Goyal for this. After this step of the government, now the need for 'Halal' certificate will be over and all kinds of legitimate meat traders will be able to register themselves. Harinder Sikka called it a decision taken under 'one country, one rule' without any bias and said that this is a message for the restaurants serving 'halal' meat.

APEDA has changed its 'Food Safety Management System' standards and quality management document. Earlier it was written that animals are practiced strictly following the 'halal' process, keeping in mind the requirements of Islamic countries. It has now been written in its place that, "Meat has to be imported according to the requirements of the countries where it is to be imported."
