New Delhi: The exercise of removing about 1,100 Rohingyas living in the country's capital Delhi from the tent and giving them a pucca roof has started. Soon, these Rohingyas will also get EWS flats with all basic services and will also get the protection of the Delhi Police. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has given information about this. Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has tweeted in this regard. He wrote ''India has always welcomed those who have sought refuge in the country. In a landmark decision, all Rohingya Refugees will be shifted to EWS flats in the Bakkarwala area of Delhi. They will be provided basic amenities, UNHCR IDs & round-the-clock Delhi Police protection.'' The decision was taken after a high-level meeting with Delhi government officials, Delhi Police and the Home Ministry led by the Chief Secretary of Delhi. The meeting was held in the last week of July. The Delhi government had said that after the fire broke out in Madarpur Khadar, where Rohingyas lived, they spend Rs 7 lakh per month for Rohingya tents. A senior official has informed that 'These refugees (Rohingyas) will soon be shifted to the NDMC flat in Bakkarwala village on the outskirts of Delhi. There are a total of 250 flats belonging to EWS category which will be provided to 1100 Rohingyas living in Madanpur Khadar Camp.' In this meeting, instructions were given to the Delhi Police that they will be posted on that campus for the security of Rohingya Muslims. At the same time, the Social Welfare Department will provide these people with fans, three-time meals, landline phones, TVs, etc., in those flats. Similarly, the Delhi government has been asked to fulfil the basic requirements of these flats and handover it to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office so that they can get the Rohingyas shifted here. According to the report, during the Corona epidemic, NDMC had given these flats to the Delhi government so that they could isolate the suspects of corona infection there. However, now it has been decided to keep Rohingyas here. It is being told that the Rohingyas who will be shifted here have the unique ID of UNHCR and each of their details is also recorded in the record.
