Harda: Most areas of Madhya Pradesh are receiving heavy rainfall these days. Due to this, many rivers including Narmada, Chambal and Betwa are in spate. In Narmadapuram, the Narmada river has crossed the danger mark and reached near the level of 967 feet. Due to this, the danger of floods has started looming in the surrounding areas. At the same time, a pregnant woman was made to cross the river by sitting on a tube, risking her life in village Kukrawat, about 7 km from Harda district headquarters.

Due to the rains, the rivers of the district are in spate up to the drain. People are facing a lot of problems. A pregnant woman was made to cross an inflated river with the help of a tube. She was then rushed to the hospital in a 108 ambulance. At present, both mother and child are healthy. Village Kukrawat, 7 km from the district headquarters, has been cut off for the last two days. District Health Officer H P Singh said the woman was first made to sit on a tube and cross the river. Thereafter, 108 ambulances were brought to Harda. Here the woman gave birth to a son in the hospital. Both mother and baby are healthy.

Narmada is flowing roughly in the Harda district due to the continuous release of water from the Tawa and Bargi dams. Handia and Nemawar Ghats have been completely submerged due to Narmada being in spate. Shani temple and prasad shops built at a height in Nemawar Ghat have been submerged in water. The water level of Narmada in Harda has reached 270 meters. which is 2 meters below the danger mark. The administration has issued an alert on the banks of Narmada and deployed a team of SDRF and Home Guard. It is a matter of relief in the district that the rain has stopped here. Due to this, the water level of Narmada tributaries is gradually returning to normal. In Jabalpur, 13 out of 21 gates of Bargi dam were opened to control the water level of Rani Avanti Bai Lodhi Sagar Project Bargi. About 1 lakh 06 thousand cusecs of water was released. After the opening of the gates of the dam, tourists are reaching here in large numbers.
