Hyderabad: PM Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have been threatened by a leader in Hyderabad, Telangana. However, the police have arrested the accused leader. According to the report, the man was demanding an apology for the statement of suspended Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Nupur Sharma. Interestingly, the case has come to light at a time when a Hindu tailor has been brutally murdered by two fundamentalists in Udaipur, Rajasthan.

According to media reports, Abdul Majid Attar is the leader of a small party. It had said that it would harm PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah as well as Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in the event of not apologizing for his remarks on Islam's Prophet Mohammad. Attar was arrested on Wednesday.

Police have registered a case against the accused under sections of the IPC for inciting religious buildings and creating a disturbance. Interestingly, the BJP meeting, which will begin on July 2, will be attended by several top leaders of the party including PM Modi, and Shah. After this, PM Modi can also address a public meeting in Secunderabad. Recently, protesters had created a ruckus in Secunderabad against the Agnipath scheme.
