New Delhi: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's YouTube channel achieved a significant milestone on Tuesday, surpassing 20 million subscribers. This accomplishment solidifies Modi's position as the most-subscribed channel among top global leaders, showcasing his digital influence and widespread popularity. Modi's channel has outpaced his global counterparts by a substantial margin. Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsanora holds the second position with a modest 6.4 million subscribers, while the third most-subscribed channel, belonging to the Ukraine President, lags significantly behind with 1.1 million subscribers. Even United States President Joe Biden is far behind with only 794,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel. In addition to subscribers, Modi's channel has dominated in terms of views, recording an impressive 2.24 billion views in December 2023. This figure is a remarkable 43 times higher than the second-highest number of views globally, held by Ukraine President Zelenskyy. Modi's success on YouTube reflects not only his digital prowess but also his extensive global appeal. With 4.5 billion video views, Modi's channel has set a benchmark for political leaders on YouTube. This achievement underscores his popularity on the international stage, consistently highlighted in various surveys where he has been rated as the most popular global leader with an approval rating exceeding 75 percent. Beyond the digital realm, Modi's YouTube channel dominance mirrors his political supremacy within India and on the international stage. The stark contrast in views and subscribers between Modi's channel and those of other Indian political leaders and parties emphasizes the unparalleled influence he wields in the digital landscape. While some other world leaders also have YouTube channels, such as Turkey's Reccep Tayip Erdogan, France's Emmanuel Macron, Argentina's Alberto Fernández, and Canada's Justine Trudeau, none come close to Modi's level of subscribers and views. PM Modi's YouTube channel had already crossed one crore subscribers in February 2022, further solidifying his position as a digital leader on the global stage.
