Hajj Yatra 2021 will depend on National, International guidelines: Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi

New Delhi: Union Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has said on Monday that Hajj-2021 will depend on national-international guidelines related to the corona virus pandemic and a final decision will be taken giving priority to the safety of the people. He also said that the Hajj Committee of India and other Indian agencies will soon start receiving applications for Hajj and other preparations for Hajj next year.

"The next Hajj is to be held in the month of June-July, but a final decision on Hajj 2021 will be taken with priority on the corona disaster and its impact and the guidelines of the Government of Saudi Arabia and the Government of India," said Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, who led the digital review meeting on Hajj-2021. According to the minister, a formal announcement will be made on the application and other process after the Decision on Hajj 2021 is decided by the Government of Saudi Arabia.

Naqvi has said, "The Hajj arrangements can change in a big way keeping in view the guidelines due to the corona pandemic. It includes housing, traffic, health and other arrangements in India and Saudi Arabia. He said that the safety of Hajj pilgrims due to corona is a priority of the government. The Government of India and other agencies concerned will make arrangements in this direction. The Government and the Hajj committee have initiated action in this regard.
