This small state increased the problems of Modi government, people protesting on the streets

Imphal: Security has been increased in Manipur where a large population of Naga people live. Apart from this, additional companies of paramilitary forces have also been deployed to deal with any emergency. Significantly, various civil societies of Manipur are protesting across the state. In fact, they want an assurance from the Central Government that the political integrity of the Naga problem will not affect the territorial integrity of Manipur.

In support of their demands last week, several groups had also requested for closure of work, due to which normal life in Manipur appeared to be significantly affected. An official has said that all the security agencies of the state have been kept on high alert and large-scale paramilitary forces personnel have also been deployed. He has told that 15 new companies of paramilitary forces have been deployed. Some companies have reached the state and for the last few days, army personnel are also reaching here by AN-32 aircraft.

On the other hand, the administration claimed that the increase in security will help in monitoring unpleasant incidents such as monitoring of highways and blocking of roads. In fact, the NSCN-IM is the most important militant group in the Northeast, which has been demanding separate flags and constitution with the unification of Naga dominated areas which the central government has already rejected.
