Patna: Former Bihar Minister and veteran leader Narendra Singh passed away this morning. He had been ill for the past several months. He breathed his last at a private hospital in Patna. Several leaders of the state including Chief Minister Nitish Kumar paid tributes to him while condoling his death. Sumit Kumar Singh, son of the late Narendra Singh, is a minister in the Bihar government. The news of Narendra Singh's death sent shockwaves through his native Jamui district. Narendra Singh was a minister of several departments in Bihar. He had a special influence on the Rajput community of the state. The politicians of Bihar have expressed deep grief over his death. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said, "I am saddened by his death. He worked with me as an associate in the cabinet. Nitish Kumar also consoled minister Sumit Kumar Singh over the phone. Bihar Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha said, "Narendra Babu remained a public servant for life. His death caused irreparable damage to the political and social world.'' JD(U) national president Lallan Singh in his condolence message said, "The news of the demise of Narendra Babu, a former minister in the Bihar government, is sad.
