Lucknow: India is remembering the famous hockey magician Major Dhyanchand on his 115th birth anniversary today. The Chief Minister of the same state Yogi Adityanath has also remembered him on the birth anniversary of Major Dhyanchand. Along with this, he has asked the budding players to learn from the dedication, sacrifice, hard labor and discipline of Major Dhyanchand. At the same time, along with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dr. Dinesh Sharma and ministers of UP government also highlighted his contribution to India along with remembering him on the anniversary of hockey wizard. The country celebrates Major Dhyanchand's birth anniversary as National Sports Day. On this day i.e. 29 August, the Central Government honors the coaches and the old players along with the players who have given excellent performance in the field of sports. The program due to COVID-19 virus infection this year will be virtual in Rashtrapati Bhavan. The players are given the highest sports honor Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award for their outstanding performance as well as the Arjuna Award, the Dronacharya Award for trainers and the Major Dhyanchand Award for their contribution to the field of sports. This time due to Corona infection, the National Sports Award will be given in the virtual program. Also, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Major Dhyanchand's contribution is pride for the country. With this, Dhyanchand was remembered and bowed to him.
