New Delhi: The 'Rajpath' of the national capital Delhi will henceforth be known by its new name 'Kartavyapath'. NDMC has given a green signal to this change in its meeting. Terming it a historic decision, Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi congratulated all the countrymen. The Union Minister has said that the decision to rename Rajpath reaffirms our commitment to serve the motherland. Let us tell you that 'Rajpath' is the route from Rashtrapati Bhavan to India Gate, whose length is 3 kilometres. The parade is organized every year on the Rajpath itself on Republic Day. The Central Government had recently decided to rename it as Kartavyapath and a meeting was called by the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) today to finalize it. The proposal to change the name has been cleared in the meeting. Now from the statue of great freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at India Gate to the entire road and area of Rashtrapati Bhavan will be known as 'Kartavyapath'. The statue of Subhas Chandra Bose has been installed in the pavilion where the statue of King George V used to be. Along with this, PM Modi recently removed the St George's Cross from the flag of the Indian Navy and put the mark of Chhatrapati Shivaji there. PM Modi had said about this that till now the identity of slavery remained on the flag of the Indian Navy. But from today the new flag of the Navy inspired by Chhatrapati Shivaji will fly in the sea and in the sky. Punjab govt employees did not get salaries, AAP govt did not have funds!
