Actress Nishvika Naidu recently enthralled her fans and followers with her advanced yoga practice called Nauli Kriya. And, this effort to nail this asana, the actress says, "I could not go to the gym and a friend offered to teach me yoga starting with the basics. And, in a bid to explore how my body could stretch and move, I was introduced to yoga," she says. "For me, practicing yoga is not just about fitness, it is more about inner peace and inner well-being and I noticed that I was slowly being able to achieve it," says Nishvika. But, did yoga help her maintain her calm during the lockdown lull? "When the initial lockdown was enforced, I was freaking out over my career graph as my whole year was gone and the entire work schedule just went for a toss. I had not signed any movie and was feeling depressed and low. Yoga made me calm and I saw how the pandemic has not just affected me but the entire world. My thought process has changed and I am much calmer now," she observes. Speaking about Nauli Kriya, Nishvika adds, "It took more than a year to get here and I am still trying to improve this kriya and other asanas. There is Padmasana, Bhujanasana and Vrikshasana as well. Each one is about the flow, sustaining the posture and one needs to be comfortable while doing so. But the beauty of yoga is that it is the only practice that says it is okay to not be able to do a certain form or kriya and it is okay to excel to the limit that you can." "I will continue this and will make it a part of my lifestyle. What started as an exercise is now a lifestyle for me and I am certainly going to practice it for life," wraps Nishvika.
