Producer of Darshan starrer Roberrt which raked in moolah at the Box Office earlier this year has adopted an elephant from Mysuru for a period of one year at a time when Zoos in Karnataka are facing financial crisis due to the lockdown

A press release issued by the Mysuru Zoo states, “Sri Umapathy Srinivasa Gowda, Bangalore has adopted "Elephant (Chamundi)" of Mysuru Zoo for one year from 10/6/2021 to 9/6/2022, by making payment of Rs.1,75,000/-. Mysore Zoo is highly thankful to Sri Umapathy Srinivasa Gowda, Bangalore for their contribution towards this noble cause, and their participation will definitely inspire other corporate bodies and charitable institutions for taking part in this animal adoption scheme. Mysore Zoo extends thanks once again for their patronage towards the zoo inmates and requests for their continued support and involvement in our joint conservation efforts.”

On June 6, after Darshan in a video appealed to all his fans and people to make donations and adopt animals from Zoos in Karnataka to tide over the financial crisis which has received tremendous response from the people since Zoo has been received over 50 lakh amounts in the form donations and through animal adoption.
