NITI Aayog released list of education quality index, know rank of you states

New Delhi: The quality of school education in the country is often debated. Due to weak governmental structure, questions have always been raised on the quality. Therefore, to compete among the states on the quality of school education, NITI Aayog has started making education quality index. Such an index has been released for the first time. Kerala is ranked first in this index, Rajasthan on second and Karnataka in third place. This list includes 20 states. In which Uttar Pradesh is at last position.

NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Rajiv Kumar released the index in the presence of the Commission's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Amitabh Kant and HRD School Education Secretary Reena Ray. Kerala ranks first, Rajasthan second and Karnataka third in all types of performances in this list. Uttar Pradesh is on the last rung. The reference to the school education quality index has been taken for the year 2016-17 and the base year 2015-16.

Rajiv Kumar says that the release of this index will increase competition among states and will inspire to do well in this field. Haryana stood first, Assam second and Uttar Pradesh third in the rankings for incremental performance. Manipur topped the overall performance category of small states, while Tripura stood second and Goa third. Meghalaya got the first place in the incremental performance rankings. Nagaland and Goa have been followed by that. According to Reena Ray, there are 11.85 lakh schools in the country, of which there is a huge shortage of teachers.
