Indian shooter Manu Bhaker expressed that despite winning two bronze medals at the Paris Olympics, her life remains unchanged. The 22-year-old athlete made history by becoming the first Indian to win two medals in a single Olympic event. In a heartfelt message to her fans on social media, Bhaker stated, “For all those who are asking me what has changed in my life after I won the medals: NOTHING. I am the same Manu Bhaker and enjoying my break. I will return to the shooting ranges in November and start training again. Thanks for your love and attention.” Reflecting on her journey, Bhaker reminisced about starting her shooting career at just 14 years old. She acknowledged the significance of every small step taken towards achieving greatness. In her post, she encouraged others to pursue their dreams relentlessly, regardless of the challenges they may face. "I was 14 when I started my journey in shooting. Never had I imagined I would reach this far. Once you start something, make sure you do everything possible to chase your dreams. Stay focused, stay driven, and let your passion fuel your journey. Every small step forward brings you closer to greatness. Keep going, you're capable of much more than you imagine! And, yes, my dream of winning Olympic gold medals continues," she shared on social media. During the Olympics, Bhaker teamed up with Sarabjot Singh to secure a bronze medal in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed team event. They triumphed over South Korea’s Lee Wonho and Oh Ye Jin, winning the play-off match 16-10. Earlier, Bhaker also won a bronze medal in the women's individual 10m air pistol event, marking a significant achievement as the first Indian woman shooter to medal at the Olympics. In her last competition, Bhaker narrowly missed out on another medal, finishing fourth in the women's 25m pistol event. This outcome prevented her from becoming the first Indian athlete to win three medals at the Olympics.
