New Delhi: The Central government is going to introduce standards for installation of fire fighting systems in two wheelers for the first time in the country. This will enable the firefighter on two wheelers to reach the narrow lanes and densely populated lanes easily and quickly. The spread of fire through immediate action will prevent major accidents, thereby protecting life and property. The messengers of new category fire fighting vehicles will be able to play an important role in difficult situations like car fires, road accidents, terror attacks, emergency situations and earthquakes etc. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has prepared a final draft on construction, conversion and work of two wheelers with fire fighting systems on Friday. Accordingly, necessary measures (spare equipments) will be taken for installation of fire fighting systems in two wheelers. It will have other necessary fire-handling equipments in the vehicle. The two-wheeled vehicle will have a fire extinguisher of at least one kilo and a chemical to extinguish the fire. It will be mandatory to have blue emergency lights (flash lights) and hooters or sirens on vehicles. So that the vehicle in traffic can get a place to move faster. There will be a stand on both sides to erect the vehicle.
