New Delhi: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah has made a big announcement saying that it will no longer take 15 days for police verification to get a passport, but verification will be done online in just 5 days. On the occasion of the 76th Raising Day of Delhi Police, the Home Minister inaugurated the completely online facility of passport verification after taking the salute at the parade organized at Kingsway Camp. Civil Lines Police Station was honored with the Best Police Station award in the program. As per reports, the Home Minister also dedicated mobile forensic vehicles inducted to the Delhi Police to the public on the occasion. He also dedicated the Academic Complex of the National Forensic Science University (NFSU) Delhi Campus. Addressing the policemen, he said that time is very precious for the people. In view of this, the Passport Application Verification facility through mobile tablets has been started in Delhi. Under this facility, police verification for passports will be done from a mobile tablet, which will lead to online police verification in 5 days. Now people will not have to go anywhere else for this. Amit Shah said that in Delhi alone, on average, online applications for more than two thousand passports are being received daily. Due to online verification, the facilities of people will increase and their problems will be reduced.
