Mumbai: Last Sunday was not a good day for India (the Omicron variant found in India), but 18 new cases were reported within 24 hours of the Omicron variant of the corona. As per the recent information, a total of 22 cases of this new variant have been confirmed in 5 States of the country - Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat and Karnataka so far. The highest number of cases in the list have been reported in 9 in Rajasthan and 9 in Maharashtra. 4 people from the same family have been found infected with this new variant in Rajasthan. As per the recent information, 4 members of the family had recently returned from Africa and 5 others who came in contact with them have been found infected. The omicron variant is said to have been confirmed in these 9 people last Sunday after genome sequencing. Earlier, a new variant was found in Pune and 7 in adjoining district Pimpri Chinchwad. Talking about Rajasthan, 4 members of the family found infected had arrived in Jaipur from South Africa via Dubai and Mumbai on November 25. The report was corona positive and samples were sent for genome sequencing. The family is said to be admitted to Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS). These include two children along with parents. Let us also tell you that the administration has been on high alert in Maharashtra since 8 new cases of omicron were received on Sunday itself. Samples of 7 people found corona positive in the Pimpri Chinchwad district were sent for genome sequence and new variants of corona have been confirmed. Now, all of them have been made quarantined. New Guidelines Issued - Now a new guideline for international passengers has been introduced. In fact, the Centre had issued these guidelines between November 28 and 30. It said passengers coming from at-risk countries will be required to undergo RT-PCR tests. Moreover, passengers will have to wait at the airport till the results are out. Additional RT-PCR facilities will be provided at all airports. At the same time, passengers from other countries except those with 'at risk' will be allowed to leave the airport. However, they will have to do self-monitoring for 14 days. Let me tell you that 5% of the passengers coming from the countries excluded from the category of the danger of omicron will definitely be tested. In this way, all international passengers will now have to disclose their 14-day travel history before boarding the flight in the self-declaration form on the Air Suvidha portal.
