Omicron will be in major cities but with mild symptoms: Former CSIR institute Chief

New Delhi: Omicron, a new variant of the corona virus, is causing fear throughout the world. How deadly it is right now, how effective the vaccination is against it, and how its symptoms relate to the rest of the variation are all factors to consider. All of these questions are being examined. Despite this, Dr. Rakesh Mishra, Director and Health Expert at the Tata Institute for Genetics and Society, claims that the new corona virus omicron form would spread to major cities throughout the country, with minor symptoms. "The covid vaccination in India will be highly efficient against omicronand and would provide a protective barrier for vaccinated individuals," he recently stated.

"The results show that hybrid immunity against omicrons would be highly successful," stated Dr. Rakesh Mishra, former head of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). Following the second round of vaccinations in India in April 2021, a large number of people have developed high protection to the corona virus. Natural immunity from infection, vaccine immunity, and hybrid immunity, in which a person who has previously been infected is vaccinated, are the three kinds of immunity that operate against the virus. 'Hybrid immunity is likely to give a lot of protection to the individuals,' he added, referring to the impact on the vaccinated population.

"Omicron can be more contagious than the delta version that delivers the second wave to India," he noted. However, the symptoms of this variation are likely to be modest. This will occur when naturally infected persons are vaccinated. This will boost hybrid immunity in a big way. Some people have been infected with corona but have been unaware of it due to a lack of symptoms.
