Panaji: The Congress, which has been facing difficulties in the coastal state of Goa for some time now, has suffered a setback once again on Friday. Several Congress leaders from Porvorim assembly seat have resigned from the party. Here, it is worth noting that these resignations have been made on Friday morning when Priyanka Gandhi is visiting the state. These leaders say the Congress does not seem to be serious about the assembly elections in the state. Former Zilla Panchayat member Gupesh Nayat has said, "The Congress is not serious about elections in the state. So far, it has not even started any preparations for the elections. ' The group of leaders who resigned is said to be supporting independent MLA Rohan Khaunte. Senior South Goa leader Moreno Rebello has also quit the Congress. Resigning, Rebello wrote that he was upset with the one-time ticket given back to current MLA Alexio Reginaldo. He said he has been working against the party and despite this, he is upset that he has been given ticket from Kartorim seat. He said the MLA has not participated in any party event in the last four and a half years and has always made statements against the party leaders. He said this in a letter to Goa Pradesh Congress Committee chief Girish Chodankar. The resignations come after the Congress failed to form an alliance with the Goa Forward Party. Recently, Congress leader and former CM Louisinho Falerio quit the party and joined several leaders in suppressing the Trinamool Congress (TMC). At the same time, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is also constantly locking horns in Goa. This has created problems for the Congress in Goa. While the BJP seems to be organized, the Congress is upset with the conflict.
