According to media reports, 62-year-old Harala Hajbba, who sells oranges in Mangaluru, was awarded the Padma Shri award on Monday, November 8, 2021. Hajbba was given this honour to complete social work in the field of education. President Ram Nath Kovind conferred padma shri on Hajabba, one of the country's most prestigious honours, at the Durbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan, the akshar saint, who never received formal education in the school himself.

Let us tell you that Harayala Hajbba, a resident of Nupadapu village in Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka, started running a school in her village with her deposits. At the same time, he continued to give the entire portion of his savings every year for the development of the school.
