Corona's havoc not stopping in Odisha, so many new cases received in last 24 hours

Bhubaneswar: Corona cases in Odisha are on the rise. The number of infected people has increased to 3,61,450 after the coronavirus was confirmed in 3,108 people in the state on April 15. The number of active cases has been recorded at 16,889. This is the highest case of infection in a day since the onset of the epidemic in Odisha. With this, the death toll in the state has risen to 1,638 after three more people died of the virus. A day earlier, on Wednesday, 2,267 new corona cases were registered.

In view of the increasing corona case in Odisha, the state government has issued an order to impose a night curfew in all the 30 districts from today. Out of these 30, 10 districts will also be where cases of corona infected people are coming up more than in the remaining districts. The rules of these districts will be more stringent. Night curfew in these 10 districts will last for 11 hours, while the remaining 20 districts will have 8 hours of restrictions.

These ten districts are Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Naupara, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Nabrangpur, Koraput, and Malkangiri bordering Chhattisgarh. These 10 districts will also have weekend shutdowns. In other 20 districts, restrictions will remain only in urban areas. In these districts, concessions have been given to the rural areas. Night curfew in these 20 districts will start at 9 pm and will continue till 5 am the next day.
