Chandigarh: Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar has appealed to the farmers who are protesting against the new agricultural laws brought by the central government to withdraw the agitation on the basis of humanity in view of the increasing cases of corona. CM Khattar has made this appeal at a time when the state government has reduced the maximum number of people to 50 and 200 respectively in closed and open places to prevent the spread of infection.

Earlier, the state government allowed 500 people to participate in open-air events and 200 in closed-door programs. CM Khattar said on Thursday that protest is a constitutional right of every person and the government has no problem if it happens in a peaceful manner, but the situation arising out of the increasing cases of covid-19 is a matter of concern.

According to the official statement, during a meeting called to review the status of the epidemic, he said that the coronavirus may be life-threatening at this time. This is not the right time to protest. CM Khattar said that farmers should withdraw their movement on the basis of humanity. He said that once the situation improves, he can start his movement.
