Bhubaneswar: A total of 33 people were arrested on Thursday for the murder of a 50-year-old woman in Odisha's Ganjam district. Giving information in this regard, the police said that a complaint was lodged by the woman's husband that she was being harassed. After this, the mob attacked the woman's house and thrashed the woman to death. According to the report, this incident is from Madhuchua village under the Kabisurya Nagar police station area. Police said that after Yudhishthira Nayak lodged a complaint against Batu Nayak for abusing and assaulting him, angry villagers attacked his house on Wednesday night. Purushottampur Sub-Divisional Police Officer Rajinikanth Samal said armed forces have been deployed in the village and the situation is under control. He said that 33 people, including 20 women, have been arrested. Police said the villagers had targeted Yudhishthira's family a month ago, accusing them of practising witchcraft. However, police said Wednesday night's attack had nothing to do with the allegation of witchcraft. On the other hand, a large number of policemen have been deployed to maintain the security system in the village. At the same time, a police officer has told that Yudhishthira was seriously injured in the attack on the house by the mob. In such a situation, he was admitted to the hospital. Both his sons were also in the hospital with him. But, when the sons returned home, they saw the dead body of the mother. According to the officer, there were several injury marks on the woman's body. In such a situation, it is being feared that such an attack may have happened due to it.
