NIA arrests ISI agent from Gujarat's Kachchh for supplying sensitive information with Pakistan

Ahmedabad: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday arrested a man in Gujarat on charges of working as an agent of Pakistan's Intelligence Agency (ISI). Razakbhai Kumbhar has been detained from West Kutch region in connection with the reported defense / ISI case in Uttar Pradesh.

A case was registered on January 19 this year at the Gomti Nagar police station in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. The case was against Mohammed Rashid, an ISI agent arrested from Chandauli. The NIA filed a case again in April this year. During the investigation, evidence was found that Rashid also had contacts with the ISI. Investigation had revealed that he had visited Pakistan twice. According to the NIA, Rashid had sent photographs of some sensitive and strategically important establishments in India to Pakistan and also shared information about the movement of armed forces with ISI operatives in Pakistan.

The NIA was informed that a man named Kumbhar in Kutch works as the treasurer for ISI agents. After that the agency searched Kumbhar's house on Friday in connection with the case, it was found that he had transferred Rs 5,000 through Paytm to the account of a person named Rizwan, who then transferred these money to Rashid. Investigation revealed that this money was given to Rashid in exchange for some important information from India to Pakistan.
