Video: Taliban has ‘broken shackles of slavery’, says Pakistan PM Imran Khan

Islamabad: Questions have been raised ever since the Taliban captured Afghanistan on what role Pakistan is going to play. But the statements of Pakistani leaders are indicating that they are very happy that the Taliban rule has come to Afghanistan. In fact, this is because a video shows Pak PM Imran Khan supporting Taliban militants.

Imran's statement comes at a time when the Taliban has captured the capital of the war-torn country. A video went viral on social media on Monday showing Imran Khan supporting the Taliban coming to power in the neighboring country. A video aired on Pakistani television shows Imran Khan welcomed the Taliban. In the video, Imran Khan says, 'He (Taliban fighters) have broken the chains of mental slavery in Afghanistan.' Imran Khan says, 'It is very difficult to break the chains of mental slavery. But now in Afghanistan, they have broken the shackles of slavery.'

Earlier, Pak Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had said in a statement that in due time, Pakistan would recognize the Taliban government in accordance with international consensus, ground reality, and Pakistan's national interests.
