NEW DELHI: In yet another embarrassing incident, a passenger created a panic on a Trivandrum-bound Indigo flight by opening the emergency door. It caused a major panic and scare among passengers. The incident reportedly toook place last year on December 10 and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has now ordered a probe into the matter. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has ordered an investigation on the matter after a passenger opened the emergency gate of an Indigo Flight. The incident that caused anxiety among airline passengers happened on an Indigo flight. The airline has been asked to submit a report as part of a review into the incident by aviation regulator Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). A top DGCA official stated, "We are looking into the matter." After the authorities performed a pressurisation check, the officla siad, the situation was calmed. On December 10, the incident took place on board IndiGo 6E Flight 6E-7339 from Chennai to Trivandrum. An official reported that shortly after pressurisation checks, the flight took off. In the recent past, numerous incidences of rowdy behaviour by airline passengers have been documented. In addition to "peeing" occurrences on planes, a loud dispute between a passenger and a member of the IndiGo flight crew recently went viral on social media. The DGCA recently asked the head of operations of the airlines to sensitise the pilots, cabin crew, and director-in-flight services of their respective airlines on the topic of handling unruly passengers through appropriate means. This request was made in response to instances of unruly behaviour of air passengers where pilots and cabin crew members failed to take appropriate action.
