Party leaders thrashed Akhilesh Shukla, who arrived at the Congress office wearing a saffron kurta, even tore his clothes

Lucknow: A case has come to light of the Amethi police in Uttar Pradesh allegedly beating up the former district vice-president of the Youth Congress who reached the Congress office wearing a saffron kurta amid the urban body election campaign. In this case, a case has been registered against many people including the district president of the Congress and the district president of the Youth Congress. A police officer has given information about this today on Friday (April 28).  

According to the report, Inspector-in-charge (SHO) of Amethi Kotwali Arun Kumar Dwivedi has informed that on the complaint of Akhilesh Shukla, a resident of Vishambharpur village, in Amethi Kotwali Congress District President Pradeep Singhal, Youth Congress District President Shubham Singh and Sameer, Brijendra Singh and some unidentified persons have been booked under sections 147 (nuisance), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (causing insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC. He told that this case has been registered on Thursday evening.   

 Akhilesh Shukla has held the post of District Vice President of Youth Congress. In his complaint to the police, he has told that he had reached the Congress office at Durgapur Road in Amethi town wearing a saffron colored kurta and white pants. Shukla alleged that many Congress leaders and workers present in the office were enraged on seeing him in saffron colored kurta and said, "You have come here as an agent of BJP. Municipal elections are going on, you should campaign for the Congress party."

Akhilesh Shukla claimed that there was a debate between the two sides on the issue of wearing saffron kurta, after which the leaders and workers fought with each other. He alleged that dozens of people, including Congress party's Amethi district president Pradeep Singhal and Youth Congress district president Shubham Singh, thrashed him badly and even tore his clothes. At the same time, District Youth Congress President Shubham Singh termed Shukla's allegations as baseless and said that it was a conspiracy to tarnish his image. He claimed that Shukla wanted a position in the organization, which he was not getting, so he was making baseless allegations.
