Ujjain: Many leaders and workers who joined the 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' led by Congress Lok Sabha MP Rahul Gandhi are losing weight fast. Not only Congress leaders and workers have joined the yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. Apart from Congressmen, several others such as police and a team of doctors have also joined the yatra, who walk alongside Rahul Gandhi. Now a report has come out, in which the team of doctors has told that the reason for the people's weight involved in the journey is decreasing rapidly. According to the report, people who join the Bharat Jodo Yatra, including Rahul Gandhi, cover a distance of about 25 km every day. Long distances have to be covered so they eat very light food. 80 percent of the people who joined the yatra have lost weight by 5 to 13 kg. There are many travelers who were not habitual of walking this much. Their weight has also decreased to a great extent. According to media reports, Rajasthan Youth Board chief Sitaram Lamba is also with this Bharat Jodo Yatra. He said "My weight was 78 kg earlier. But now it has come down to 70 kg. I have never had such a lifestyle before to get up at 4 am and walk 25 km.'' Manoj Saluja, professor at Kota Medical College, said, "Walking one km burns around 30-40 calories and we walk for 25 km daily, which is reducing body weight. Not only this, 600 police personnel and officers are also present on this Yatra, who are walking with passengers to monitor the security arrangements wearing sports shoes. It is not easy to walk in the police boot for hours daily as the journey is long. The police boot is very heavy and its soles are very hard. Therefore, the uniform pattern for police personnel has been changed and sports shoes have been allowed to be worn instead of police boots.''
