New Delhi: Government oil companies today have not hiked petrol diesel prices for the 9th consecutive day, giving relief to the general public. Petrol costs Rs 90.56 per liter and diesel Rs 80.87 per liter in the country's capital Delhi on Thursday. On the other hand, crude oil prices are on a declining trend in the international market. In such a situation, it is expected in the domestic market that petrol-diesel may be cheaper. It is worth noting that petrol and diesel prices are revised at 6 a.m. every day. The new rates come into effect from 6 a.m. After adding excise duty, dealer commission, and other items to the price of petrol and diesel, the price doubles. Petrol and diesel prices are revised every day on the basis of what crude prices are in the international market with forex rates. Petrol and diesel prices were cut thrice in March. After this cut petrol became cheaper by only 61 paise and diesel by 60 paise per liter. The price of petrol had increased by 16 installments during the month of February. That made it costlier by Rs 04.74. On the other hand, when it comes to diesel, the price had gone up by Rs 4.52 within 16 days.
