Petroleum Ministry host India Energy Week 2023

BANGALORE: The inaugural edition of India Energy Week 2023  will be held in Bangalore starting from February 6-8 at International Exhibition Centre.

The event will be organised by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. It will bring together international policymakers and energy leaders to advance discussion on how India will address its growing energy demand by combining biofuels, green hydrogen, renewable energy, and conventional energy.

Over the next two decades, India is expected to have the biggest increase in energy consumption of all the countries, as its economy continues to expand and offer possibilities to both its citizens and the global energy value chain.

India's energy transition will be crucial to the development of the world's energy markets since it is a rapidly rising nation that will soon surpass China in population. The timing of India Energy Week is crucial since environmental sustainability and energy security issues are having an impact on long-term energy transition and decarbonization pathways.

Energy leaders from across India will discuss current and future plans on how India looks to diversify its energy mix through gas, biofuels, and hydrogen to unlock its full potential on the road to achieve net-zero by 2070, in line with the energy commitments set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during COP26 to drive climate change, officials said. This event is the first significant energy event on the calendar under India's G20 Presidency.

Hardeep Singh Puri, India's minister for petroleum and natural gas, will warmly welcome his counterparts in the global energy community to promote critical discussion and take immediate action to manage the changing energy landscape.

For India's largest energy show, a varied conference schedule, and a number of special events over the course of the three event days, over 30,000 energy professionals from across the full energy value chain, including energy, finance, government, think tanks, and academia, will attend India Energy Week in 2023.

An India Experience Zone, Future Mobility Zone, Bio-Energy Zone, and special pavilions like the Petronet LNG Pavilion, Make in India Pavilion, and Waste to Energy Pavilion, among others, will be included in the international exhibition where 650+ exhibiting companies will showcase their products for India and the global market.
