TOWER OF LONDON:  A royal fortress and a World Heritage Site, the Tower of London is also famous for being an infamous prison back in the day. and is located in Central London. The fortress is known for its archaic yet riveting architecture and a clear view of the River Thames.  Located in the heart of the city, overlooking the River Thames, the expansive Tower of London was founded in 1066 and has weathered a lot of storms since its inception in the year 1078.

It is a majestic fortress, with a history dating back centuries before the present day. Having been damaged during World War II in the Blitz (bombing by German camps in Britain) and having undergone many a reparation, it still stands tall as London’s one of most famous tourist attraction sites. The palace is guarded by a corps of Royal Bodyguards, also known as Beefeaters, who also act as tourist guides.

BRITISH MUSEUM:   Located in the Bloomsbury area in London, the British Museum has a collection of materials from over two million years of human history. It presents a unique comparison of the treasures of the global culture and holds some priceless objects from Assyria, Babylonia, China, and Europe. Located in London, the British Museum is a museum dedicated to human history, culture, and art.

It was founded in 1753.  It has a record of having over 8 million works and is considered to be one of the largest and most comprehensive museums in existence. It contains materials from all continents and documents the evolution of human beings from the beginning till the present. It is mainly based on the collections of the scientist and physician Sir Hans Sloane. The major interest points for the tourists are the Elgin Marbles from Parthenon, the colossal bust of Rameses II, the Rosetta Stone, the Egyptian mummies, and the Mildenhall Treasure.

LONDON EYE:  Centrally located in London, the Coca-Cola London Eye is a huge Ferris wheel and can be called, the heart of the city. It is often regarded as the Millennium wheel. It rotates gracefully over the River Thames, opposite the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. The London Eye on the South Bank of the River Thames is located in the capital city of London. It is a 443 feet tall structure that has a diameter of 394 feet.

This was built to mark London's millennium celebrations in 2000 and it is also Europe's largest observation wheel. The individual glass capsules of the London Eye offer the tourists wonderful views of the city as it reaches the top. The journey lasts for about 30 minutes and it is always advised to reserve the time in advance. London Eye has also incorporated a 4D experience, where people can be able to feel multi-sensory special effects like scent, bubbles, and wind.

BUCKINGHAM PALACE:  The official residence and administrative headquarters of the reigning monarch, Buckingham Palace is a major tourist destination. It is located in the City of Westminster. Buckingham Palace is extremely famous for the city's most popular display of circumstance, the Changing of the Guard. This ceremony takes place around 11:30 in the morning in every season where one can witness precision marching along with music and orchestra.

The Palace was built in 1837 and has continued to be the residence of the Royal family since the time of Queen Victoria. One way to know whether the Queen is in the palace or not is by looking at the flagpole at the top of the building. If the royal standard is flying, she is present there. On several special occasions, the Queen may also come to the central balcony. 19 rooms are open to visitors during August and September when the Queen makes her annual visit to Balmoral.

TOWER BRIDGE:  Built in 1886, the Tower Bridge is a combined bascule and suspension bridge in London constructed over the River Thames. The bridge offers gorgeous panoramic views of the city. One can also experience the amazing view from the high-level walkway and notice the wealth of museums and historic buildings surrounding the Thames. 

It is close to the Tower of London and is an iconic symbol of the city nowadays. The Tower Bridge exhibition lets you know the history of the bridge, and how and why it was built through various interactive videos and displays about the landmark. It has a glass floor walkway that provides a unique experience for visitors. One may also get a spectacular panoramic view over the river. Bascule bridge refers to those bridges which are lifted to allow the boats and the barges to pass.

HYDE PARK:  Is one of the eight royal parks in London. Located in the City of Westminster, in Central London, Hyde Park covers an area of 350 acres. It is home to several landmarks like the Serpentine Lake, the Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain, and the Speaker's Corner. Hyde Park in London is one of the largest city parks in the entire world, covering an area of 142 hectares. It is home to over 4000 trees, a meadow, a large lake, and beautiful flower gardens and is visited by millions of tourists and local people every year.

This is a place that has something in store for everyone. Various activities like swimming, boating, cycling, and skating can be done here. There are also grounds for games like tennis, horse riding, and many more. Two lakeside restaurants in the park serve everything from coffee to a full-course meal. There are numerous fascinating buildings and monuments within the park like the Joy of Life Fountain, the Archives Statue, The Serpentine Bridge, etc. On Sundays, one can visit the Speaker's Corner to listen to the most popular orators in the city.

WESTMINSTER ABBEY:  A historically relevant 1000-year-old World Heritage Site, Westminster Abbey in the City of Westminster is one of London’s most regal and noteworthy religious churches. It is located along the western bank of the River Thames and is one of the world’s best churches.  Located near many other well-known London attractions like the Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Palace of Westminster, Westminster Abbey sees over a million visitors from around the world.  It has been in existence since 960 AD.

It is known for having hosted coronations, and weddings, and for being a burial site for the English and British monarchs back in the day. It is officially named the Collegiate Church of St. Peter at Westminster, governed by the Dean & Chapter of the city. Before 1560, Westminster Abbey was a cathedral, but post that, it is under the jurisdiction of the sovereign, and is no longer an abbey or cathedral, given the status of ‘Royal Peculiar’. This place has seen over 16 royal weddings and has been a burial site for many great people in history.
