PM announces projects in Jharkhand worth Rs 16,800 cr

Jharkhand: On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation for a number of construction projects and dedicated ones, including an airport, with a total value of more than Rs 16,800 crore.

On his arrival in Jharkhand, Modi received a hearty welcome from many people, including the state's chief minister Hemant Soren. The PM laid the foundation and inaugurated projects worth Rs 16,800 crore, including a 657-acre airport built for Rs 401 crore.

The prime minster flagged off a Kolkata-bound IndiGo flight from the Deoghar airport to mark the inauguration of Jharkhand's second airport after Ranchi. 

The prime minister laid the foundation stone of the Deoghar airport on May 25, 2018, as a significant step toward providing direct connectivity to Baba Baidyanath Dham, which is a premier religious destination for devotees from all over the country. At AIIMS, Deoghar, he also opened the in-patient department and the operating room services.

Several energy, infrastructure, and road projects were formally launched by Modi.  In addition to the elevated corridor from Kutchery Chowk to Piska More and Itki RoB in Ranchi, it also calls for the widening of the roads connecting Palamu and Gumla, the Rehal-Garhwa bypass, and Mirza Chowki and Farakka. The projects include the development of the Khairatunda-Barwa Adda segment, the Ranchi-Mahalia stretch, and the Gorhar-Khairatunda road.

Modi also laid the foundation stoine for or inaugurated the redevelopment of Ranchi station, the Jasidih bypass newline, the Godda Coach Maintenance depot, and the doubling of the Garhwa-Mahuria railroad.  A facility and pipeline network are being built at the coal-bed methane in Parbatpur's Jharia block, as well as LPG plants at Barhi and Bokaro and the Bokaro-Angul leg of the Jagdishpur-Haldia-Bokaro-Dhamra pipeline.
