New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched the national emblem on the roof of the new Parliament building. Officials have said that the bronze symbol weighs 9,500 kg and has a height of 6.5 meters. He said it has already been built on the top of the new Parliament building and a steel structure of about 6,500 kg has been constructed around it to support the symbol.

PM Modi, meanwhile, also interacted with the labourers engaged in the construction work of the Parliament House. He has said that the work of installing the national emblem on the roof of the new Parliament building has been completed in eight different phases. It has many tasks, from making models from clay to preparing computer graphics and polishing bronze-made figures. During this time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also interacted with the workers involved in the work of the new Parliament.

Officials have said that it took nine months to build this Ashoka Pillar. It has been installed in the middle of the roof of the new building of the Parliament House. He has said that the work has been done in a total of 8 stages in the construction of this pillar. It has been prepared in a total of 8 rounds including concept sketch, clay modelling and computer graphic. Let us know that the Ashoka Pillar was prepared in a total of 150 parts. They were assembled and then installed after being taken to the roof. The work of assembling them was started at the end of April. It took about 2 months.

According to reports, the construction of the new Parliament building may cost more than Rs  200 crore. Not only this, these expenses appear to be increasing on steel, electronics and other works. The CPWD is also expected to get the approval of the Lok Sabha Secretariat for this increased expenditure. Tata Projects, the project to build a new Parliament building in 2020, has been awarded rs 971 crore to Tata Projects. The government had set October 2022 as the deadline for the building and had set a target to hold the winter session in the new parliament building this year.
