PM Modi inaugurates 'Submarine Optical Fiber Cable', know about this project

 New Delhi: PM Modi inaugurated the Submarine Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) on Monday. This fiber cable will connect Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu and Port Blair, the capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands via sea. During this, PM Modi said that 'I salute Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, I had the opportunity to launch the Submarine Optical Fiber Cable Connectivity Project about one and a half years ago. I am glad that its work is now complete and today I have got the good luck to release it. '

PM Modi further said that from Chennai to Port Blair, Port Blair to Little Andaman and Port Blair to Swaraj Island, the service has started in a large part of Andaman and Nicobar from today. I congratulate the people of Andaman and Nicobar for this connectivity filled with endless opportunities. He said that it has been our dedication that there should be rapid development of border areas and maritime areas connected with the security of the nation. This optical fiber project connecting Andaman and Nicobar to the rest of the country and the world is a symbol of our commitment to Ease of Living. PM Modi said that the Indian Ocean has been the center of India's business and strategic potential for thousands of years. Now that India is following the new policy and practice of trade and cooperation in Indo-Pacific, the importance of our islands including Andaman and Nicobar has increased further.
