AHMEDABAD: Purushottam Priyas Das Maharaj, the chairman of a branch of Swaminarayan Panth, has died today i.e. on Thursday, he was 78 years old. He was infected with Corona and was admitted to a private hospital in Surat for treatment. It is being told that he was on a ventilator for a long time. While condoling his demise, PM Narendra Modi has remembered the work done by him to alleviate human suffering. PM Modi tweeted from his official Twitter handle and wrote, 'Acharya Shri Purushottam Priyadas Ji Swami Shri Maharaj had a wealth of knowledge. The work she did for community service, education, and women empowerment will always be remembered. I will never forget the talks I had with him many times. Om Shanti'. In another tweet, PM Modi wrote, 'We will always remember Acharya Shri Purushottam Priyadas Ji Swami Shri Maharaj for his excellent service to the society. He worked hard to reduce human suffering. Innumerable people will remember him not only in India but all over the world.'
