PM Modi saddened by the death of Bappi Da, President Kovind also expressed grief

New Delhi: Bappi Lahiri, the famous singer of Bollywood films, has passed away today. The music world has lost a talented singer today. Let us tell you that the real name of Bappi Lahiri is Alokesh Lahiri but in the industry he is known as Bappi Lahiri. Bappi Lahiri was born in a Bengali family. His father was Aparesh Lahiri and mother was Bansuri Lahiri. Both were Bengali singers and composers in classical music and Shyama Sangeet. Bappi was their only child. Singer Kishore Kumar was also a relative of Bappi Lahiri. He looked like her uncle. Bappi also had an interest in music since childhood. He started learning to play the tabla at the age of 3. He was trained by his parents.

PM Narendra Modi has condoled the death of Bappi Lahiri. Prime Minister Modi tweeted and wrote- Bappi Lahiri's vibrant nature will be remembered by all. I am saddened by his death. Bappi Lahiri, popularly known as Bappi Da, died at the age of 69 at Mumbai's Criti Care Hospital at 11 pm after a prolonged illness. Prime Minister Modi said, "Shri Bappi Lahiri ji's music was all-round. He used to express various emotions beautifully. People of every generation can relate to his songs. His lively nature will be remembered by all. I am saddened by his death. Condolences to his family and fans. Oh peace."

Along with this, President Ram Nath Kovind tweeted and wrote – Shri Bappi Lahiri was an unmatched singer-composer. His songs got popularity not only in India but also abroad. His diverse range included youthful as well as soulful melodies. His memorable songs will continue to delight the listeners for a long time. Condolences to his family and fans. Along with this, Amit Shah has also expressed grief by tweeting, he wrote – Sad to know about the demise of great singer and composer Bappi Lahiri ji. His death has left a huge void in the world of Indian music. Bappi Da will be remembered for his versatile singing and lively nature. My condolences to his family and fans. Peace.
