NEW DELHI: Arif Mohammed Khan, the governor of Kerala, praised admiration on Prime Minister Narendra Modi while equating him to Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first PM and the architect of modern India. The Governor said on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has succeeded in a number of duties that Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first PM, was unable to. "Modi, who came from a lower socioeconomic class, has advanced through including all stakeholders. In reference to a number of problems, including the outlawing of triple talaq, the Governor claimed that Modi had accomplished what even Nehru had failed to do. The governor of Kerala was addressed on Friday at a ceremony where former vice president M. Venkaiah Naidu released the book "Prime Minister Narendra Modi Speaks." The book is a collection of Modi's best talks from 2019–20. Former Vice President Naidu opined that PM Modi should strive to meet political figures from all sides more frequently as this would help dispel certain misconceptions the opposition has about his strategies. He continued by saying that under Modi's leadership, India had quickly emerged as a major player. Anurag Thakur, a minister for the Union, also spoke at the occasion. Meanwhile, the governor of Kerala has declared that he will not reply to the media's criticism of chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Journalists are remaining mute in response to the CM's anti-media position. The media has lowered its self-esteem by being silent. The media would have commented if they had any self-respect. Will not engage in self-deprecating behaviour when speaking to the media," the Governor added.
