PM Modi to attend BJP roadshow in New Delhi

NEW DELHI: India Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to hold a roadshow from Patel Chowk to the New Delhi Municipal Committee convention centre, the venue for the BJP National Executive meeting that gets underway today, January 16.

Vehicular movement is expected to be affected in parts of New Delhi today with the police imposing traffic restrictions on certain roads in view of a BJP roadshow to be attended by the Pm The roadshow from Patel Chowk roundabout on Sansad Marg to Jai Singh Road Junction is expected to draw a large crowd. 

The meeting will start at 4 p.m. on Tuesday and end at that time. It just so happens to be the BJP's first significant gathering of this brand-new, jam-packed year.

The Meeting  is expected to approve a contract renewal for J.P. Nadda, the party's national president, and to discuss election strategies for the Assembly and general elections.

Several significant national issues would be tackled at the executive, said party general secretary Vinod Tawde, who was speaking to a press conference at the local BJP headquarters. He siad,  that "elaborate discussions will be made on the approaching Assembly elections in states, the BJP's "pravas yojana" for Lok Sabha seats where the party's performance was not up to standard, and strengthening booth-level teams" underscoring the meeting's significance.

The BJP headquarters in this city will also host a meeting of the party's national office holders, state unit presidents, and various organisational secretaries prior to the executive.
