PM Modi to inaugurate 'Mahakal Lok' in Ujjain today

UJJAIN: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set inaugurate the first phase of the 'Mahakal Lok' corridor on today, October 11. He will reach city airport at 4.30 pm from Ahmedabad and fly to Ujjain where he will inaugurate Mahakal Lok.

The project is aimed help in enriching the experience of pilgrims visiting the temple by giving them with world-class modern amenities. Pilgrims who go to the temple will have a better time because of the project. It will give them modern amenities that are on par with the best in the world.

The aim of the project is to make the area less crowded and to pay special attention to preserving and fixing up historic buildings. It is over 900 metres long and has 108 sandstone columns. On top of each column is a "mudra" of Lord Shiva and a "trishul."

Reports say that a large "shivaling" made of "moli" (sacred threads) has been set up at Nandi Dwar, the entrance to "Mahakal Lokmain." If everything goes as planned, the prime minister will show off the "shivaling" to mark the start of the mega corridor.

In a statement about the event, the government said, "The Mahakal Path has 108 stambhs (pillars) that show Lord Shiva dancing the Anand Tandav Swaroop. There are many religious sculptures of Lord Shiva's life along the Mahakal Path. The murals along the Path are based on stories from the Shiva Purana, like the Act of Creation, the Birth of Ganesha, and the Story of Sati and Daksha.

Work is going on Phase-II of the project, and when it is done, the temple complex will have grown from 2.87 to 47 hactre and be able to hold a lot more people.

G Kishan Reddy, the Union Culture Minister, put a drone video of the corridor on Twitter and wrote "Jai Mahakal." On October 11, Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, will open the first part of the Shree Mahakaleshwar Temple Corridor in Ujjain.
